Tony ParsonsAfter attending Ryerson Institute of Technology in Toronto, Tony Parson's early career in journalism began with jobs at CJCS in Stratford, Ont., CJOY in Guelph and CHML in Hamilton. He subsequently joined CFTO-TV as a television reporter and eventually became that station's late evening anchor.

Parsons moved to British Columbia eight years later as the West Coast correspondent for CTV National News. Soon after, he was offered the six o'clock anchor assignment at BCTV where he has been for 29 years. Parsons has helped to make the News Hour the most-watched, English-language newscast in Canada and the second most-watched in North America.
