In October, 2004, the Jack Webster Foundation awarded twelve $1,000 scholarships to deserving journalism students throughout BC.
These awards, sponsored by BC Hydro, recognize BC journalism students who through competition have demonstrated their dedication to their craft and motivation to establish themselves in a very competitive and challenging field. "Supporting education through scholarships is an important part of BC Hydro's corporate donations program," said BC Hydro Chair and CEO Larry Bell. "We are proud to be able to help students further their careers by making education more accessible."
The winners are: Mark Macdonald and Danielle Bell from Thompson Rivers University, Kristian Rasmussen and Dan O'Connor of Kwantlen University, Sam Cooper and Darryl Greer from Langara College, Sarah Duvall, Dean Swaykoski, Jesse Johnston, Katherine Kitts from BCIT and Brad Badelt and Ai Lin Choo from UBC.
