Journalism Fellowships Announced
Read the recipients' experiences at the Poynter InstituteJack Webster Foundation Co-Chairs Neil Soper and Debora Sweeney today announced more than $22,000 in funding for 2008 recipients of the JWF Fellowships.
Five recipients will attend the Poynter Institute in Florida in the following courses: Strategies for Online Leaders, TV Power Reporting, Narrative Writing, the Complete TV Producer and Backpack photojournalism. Two recipients will attend courses offered by IRE (Investigative Reporters and Editors) in Missouri and one recipient will conduct a research project in South Korea.
"We're very proud that the Jack Webster Foundation is able to provide professional development opportunities for BC journalists," Sweeney said.
"These annual fellowships are coming just as a group of BC journalists is returning from Rwanda and Mozambique on our CIDA-sponsored Seeing the World through New Eyes program," said Soper. See their blogs here.

Deadline for entries to the 2009 fellowships is February 13, 2009.
